Welcome,
The aim of this site is to give you some insight into my background as a psychologist and whether psychological therapy would be supportive for you at this time.
I am a Counselling Psychologist with experience working within the NHS, private practice and occupational health. I believe that we all have the ability to make positive changes to experience feelings of joy and contentment regardless of our past or present circumstances. We will work together to explore what is no longer working for you and aim to refocus your attention towards what empowers you and returns you to a fulfilling life.
I have been trained in the three main therapeutic modalities including, cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic and person-centred therapy. However, the core of my approach is based on acceptance, compassion and mindfulness practices, which are aimed at providing you with long term, helpful ways of being with the more challenging emotions we all experience, such as fear, shame, anger and sadness.
The therapeutic relationship and our ability to connect have been shown to be the most important ingredients for successful therapeutic work. I would therefore advise for us to meet for an initial appointment so we can discuss your expectations and hopes of therapy and then decide collaboratively whether to continue working together.
